The Guest List

Birthday invitations without the headcount guessing.

A useful birthday invitation makes the date, place, reply deadline and plus-one policy easy to find. Use one RSVP link so replies from different chats can be tracked together.

Decide who each invitation includes

An invitation to a household is not the same as one place at a table. Before sharing the link, decide whether partners, children or friends are included. Explain that policy directly rather than relying on a guest-count field to communicate it.

For a child’s party, say whether parents or siblings are expected to stay. Count everyone who needs food or space, even if only one adult submits the response.

  • Event date, start time and expected finish.
  • Venue, access details and a host contact.
  • Reply-by date and the number of people invited.
  • Any costs, preparation or age-related arrangements.

A message you can adapt

Replace the placeholders and read the message on a phone. Keep the same event link if you share it by text, email and a group chat.

We’re celebrating [name] on [date] at [time], at [venue]. Please RSVP at [link] by [deadline] and confirm the total attending, including you. This invitation includes [guest policy]. Questions? Contact [host].

Keep the final count reliable

Separate people who have not replied from people who declined. If someone responds directly in a chat, reconcile that answer with your main list before following up. Tell guests how to contact you if their plans change.

Guest List Free supports up to 50 attending people per event, including plus-ones. The guest count, not the number of links sent, determines whether you need Pro. Do not publish a home address more widely than intended; check the event’s visibility before sharing.
